Frequently asked questions

Last reviewed 12 October 2026
Is Tango the same as Binairo?

Very nearly. Tango is LinkedIn's version of Binairo/Takuzu with = and × links added. Hoot & Fox has both classic and Plus (linked) puzzles. We're not affiliated with LinkedIn.

Is there an unlimited mode?

Yes — Unlimited here in the browser, and Endless in the app.

Is the web Daily the same as the app's?

Yes, generated from the same date seed. Ranks, streaks and hearts are app-only.

Does the app work offline?

Fully. Only leaderboards and ads need a connection.

How much does it cost?

The app is free to play, with ad breaks between puzzles. A one-time £4.99 purchase removes them permanently and adds bonus hints, acorns and a board skin. Optional acorn packs are available if you'd like more acorns sooner. Nothing you buy changes the difficulty, and there are no subscriptions.

What is the Weekly Grand?

One big 14×14 puzzle each week in the iPhone app, the same for everyone. It's the largest board in Hoot & Fox.

What's the difference between Binairo, Takuzu and Tango?

Binairo and Takuzu are two names for the same puzzle. LinkedIn's Tango uses the same rules on a 6×6 grid and adds = and × links between some cells.

Can every puzzle really be solved without guessing?

Yes. Each one is checked by a solver that only uses the seven human techniques before it ships.

Is there an Android version?

Not at the moment. The browser version works on Android.

How do I report a problem?

Email [email protected] with your device and a screenshot.
